TORI’S WORLD · AN ANIMAL CITY

A strange new city. Slowly, a home.

Tori’s city is a fictional setting for learning Korean. Its animal residents order coffee, ask for directions, read books and make friends through recognisable everyday moments.

Tori arrives with a suitcase and a carrot marked 용기, courage. Her 90-day diary begins with the nervous night before leaving home.

01

Give an expression a place in everyday life

This story world is not a travel guide or a map of real Seoul. Its familiar situations give expressions a purpose: a greeting helps you meet someone; a question helps you understand what is happening.

02

Meet a character. Notice a tone.

Pay attention to who is speaking to whom. Meeting someone, asking a shop worker for help and chatting with a close friend can call for different expressions. Begin with polite everyday Korean and learn the differences in context.

Follow the story a little further

Read day one, then look around the interactive city. Short drama videos are still in preparation; story previews do not mean films have already been released.
